The REGIOSTARS awards is a yearly competition organised by the European Commission's Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy with the objective of identifying good practices in regional development and highlighting original and innovative projects which could be attractive and inspiring to other regions and project managers.
There are five REGIOSTARS categories for 2019:
- Category 1 – SMART GROWTH: Promoting digital transformation
- Category 2 – SUSTAINABLE GROWTH: Connecting green, blue and grey;
- Category 3 - INCLUSIVE GROWTH: Combatting inequalities and poverty
- Category 4 – Urban development: Building climate-resilient cities
- Category 5 – Topic of the year 2019: Modernising health services
Awards
Winners will receive the REGIOSTARS awards at the Award Ceremony in Brussels in October. The project manager and a representative from the managing authority will receive a REGIOSTARS trophy and a certificate from the European Commissioner for Regional Policy. The European Commission will also invite the winners to present their project during a dedicated press event.
Eligibility
The projects which are being implemented within the Interreg-IPA CBC Hungary-Serbia Programme and the projects implemented in the previous programme (2007-2013) – IPA CBC Hungary-Serbia which were co-financed after 1 January 2007, are eligible to apply. Application Process
Applications must be submitted no later than 9 May 2019, 23:59:59 CET, exclusively via the REGIOSTARS online platform by the project manager and with the endorsement of the responsible Managing Authority.
Prior to applying, project managers of the eligible projects interested in participating must contact the Managing Authority of the Programme for endorsement: Zsuzsanna Törő-Ihász, Programme Manager: zsuzsanna.toro@mfa.gov.hu.
The maximum of five applications may be submitted per operational programme. Managing authorities are free to use a selection process they deem appropriate to choose to support the candidates for their region or country.
